Progress In ‘The Taproom’!
We’ve been working extra hard to make this progress on our future taproom. Insulation, ducts, framing, it’s all been going in according to plan. The Mather is getting ever closer to having a new space for enjoying drinks from the draft, in a historical place. What was once the Cognision Taproom will soon be refreshed. We are so excited to share these updates!

The Second Update On Our New Spaces At The Mather!
‘The Quiet Room’ Some serious progress is being made on ‘The Quiet Room’! This will be an extension of The Mather Lounge, providing a quiet space for meaningful interaction, and enjoyment of our fine craft cocktails. ‘The Tap Room’ Here is another update on progress at The Mather’s ‘Tap Room’. If you don’t already know; This space was the original Cognition Brewery’s brewing space! We’re reclaiming it for our guests to enjoy the best beer the U.P. has to offer, and the staple domestics, of course.
Some Serious Updates Incoming!
‘The Quiet Room’ This is where the Cognition Brewery served their beers! It will be a quiet area where people can sit and chat, play cards, whatever. The chairs will be original pieces (see photo) from the 1930’s. Construction is underway on both this, ‘The Quiet Room’ and ‘The Tap Room’. ‘The Tap Room’ This round of photos is where The Tap Room at The Mather is going to go. It used to be the boiler room for the hotel back in the 1930’s and later the brewing area for The Cognition. The plan is for multiple TV’s, a stage and a full Tap Room with food.

Beginning today, April 18th-19th, 2025, The Mather and The Mather Lounge are hosting a spring-themed weekend with live music, and exciting proceedings.
